Your account, your data: you know where they stand

People come to Guildi to play together, not to wonder what becomes of their account once they stop. This update answers that question for every member, and takes the legal pages off guild leaders' plates.

🧙 Your member account

When you delete your account.
From "Delete my account", your username, email address, avatar and sign-in history are erased. Your forum posts stay where they are so threads keep making sense, signed "Anonymous." followed by a number.

A long break doesn't cost you your account.
If you don't sign in for the period your guild has chosen, you get three emails: six months, two months, then fifteen days before the deadline. One sign-in is enough to start a full period again. With no sign of you, the account is anonymised just as if it had been deleted.

You know what the site keeps about you.
Every guild site links to its "Legal notice" and "Privacy policy" at the bottom of the page: who runs the site, what is kept, for how long, and which address to write to if you want to see or erase your data.

Your IP address doesn't stay on display.
A guild's administrators see the full IP address of your sign-ins for thirty days. After that, only its first part remains visible.

A newsletter you can leave whenever you like.
Every newsletter email carries a link that takes you straight to unsubscribing. If you haven't read it in a long while, an email asks whether you want to stay before taking you off the list.

A tick box at sign-up.
If your guild has switched it on, the "I certify that I am 15 or older." box appears when you create an account, recruitment applications included. No date of birth is ever asked for.

👑 For guild leaders

Legal pages you don't have to write.
In the new "Legal & GDPR" category, fill in "Publisher identity" once: your legal notice and privacy policy are built from it, footer links included. Pick "An individual" and your address is never published on the site.

You decide how long inactive accounts last.
Under "GDPR settings", set the "Retention period, in months" to 12, 18, 24 or 36. That is what triggers the emails to your absent members. Your own account and your administrators' are never affected.

Your site's rules, at a fixed address.
The "Terms and conditions" screen lets you switch on and write terms of use, plus terms of sale if your guild sells anything. A tick box adds their link to the footer.

The cookie banner gets a screen of its own.
"Cookies & consent" brings its three settings together: force consent, switch it off, or write your own message.

Hand over before you leave.
The site owner can't delete their account while they own the site: they first bequeath the site to another member, who receives their administration rights.

🛠️ Fixes and finishing touches

  • Bequeathing the site to another member now goes all the way: the new leader gets the administration rights, the former one becomes a regular member, and the confirmation email is sent.
  • In the editor's preview mode, the page stays on the block you were looking at.
  • Blocks that appear with a scroll effect now show up in preview mode too.
  • When you customise your guild's theme, the font list always shows the one your site uses, however unusual.
  • On phones, the menu button shows up as soon as your menu holds a link, and stays out of the way on a one-page site.
  • With a fixed header, the cross that closes the mobile menu takes the colour of its links.
  • A title can now have its own size on phones: set it in the Title block options, next to the mobile icon, and your guild's big heading fits on a small screen.
  • Running a multilingual site? A single button can send each visitor to the Discord server in their own language: pick "Link to external URL or anchor" in the Button block options, then "Set a different URL per language".
  • In the RaidPlanner calendar, today's cell takes your theme's accent colour: on a dark site, its number reads as clearly as the others.
  • Admin forms are easier to read: section headings in small capitals, and coloured status switches, with "Published" in green and a disabled site in red.
  • Searching the module list no longer cares about capital letters.

Happy adventuring on Guildi!
